Rockin' Event Review: 2016 Minnesota Wish Ball

On Saturday May 21, 2016 the Medina Entertainment Center was the place to be. This was my 7th Make-A-Wish Gala I have volunteered for and it was truly one to remember. The original location for the gala was Paisley Park, but unfortunately with Prince's passing and a judge ruling the event had to be moved last minute. The Make-A-Wish staff did an absolutely amazing job and the night went off without a hitch.

This year I got to work the gift card punch wall. For $50 you got a mystery gift card worth at least $50. It was really fun getting all those holes punched in at me and running the prizes around!

My favorite part of the Wish Ball is the silent auction for Wish Art. The local Minnesota chapter of Make-A-Wish pairs up local artists and Wish Kids to create amazing one-of-a-kind pieces of art to raise money. The results are truly stunning!

Prince's presence was truly felt at the event. Even Dr. Mambo's Combo played that evening. The Purple One would have been proud!

Over $690,000 was raised that night for granting wishes. I couldn't have been prouder and more appreciative of everyone who helped make all those wishes come true!
